is my beta fish not moving
Re: is my beta fish not moving
70 degrees Fahrenheit is way too low for a betta. They need it warmer, like 78-80F, or they'll just be super lethargic. What kind of test kit are you using, btw?

Hey, I think we need to get to the bottom of this. Can you please give us the exact numbers for your water test results - pH, GH, KH, ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates?raynigma wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 11:53 am My beta's been under the weather and I'm stumped - I've ruled out itch, but that's about it. Did a salt treatment for a couple of weeks, still unsure if it did the trick. He does swim away when I get something near him, so that's a plus. Saw him at the surface, eating the food I gave him, now he's back at the bottom. I catch glimpses of him at the top or bottom, but honestly, I'm at a loss for what to do next.
Also, I'm with happyone on the temperature thing - 70°F is way too cold for a betta. They need it warmer, around 77-78°F.
Do you let your water sit for 72 hours before doing a water change, or do you use a water conditioner to get rid of chlorine and chloramine?
