I'm a mixer, no issues here. My first six discus came from local stores, no idea about their heritage. Then I got six Hans discus, these fish are super strong, zero problems. Just got eight more, they're all living together in a planted tank. For me, clean water and proper quarantine are the key. I also got two from Uncle Sam's, they're doing fine, just not growing as big as Hans' fish. Clean water and QT, that's my secret.

If you bought from Kenny recently, chances are they're Malaysian.

Just got 8 more, and I also picked up 2 from Uncle Sams. Those ones haven't grown as big as the Hans discus, but still no problems. They all live together in a planted tank. Asian and European discus are essentially the same, one species with varying regional characteristics. Georg Stendker's remarriage seems to have marked a shift in marketing strategy, now more focused on persuasion than science.
