Thanks for the advice, I was worried sick about my firtideflow. I've decided to take the plunge and get the other perc tomorrow. I'll try to keep my cool when I go back to that LFS, but it's hard when they won't take back a fish that's not working out.

So, with the TL550 and 18L water changes every week, do you think the tank can handle a goby's bioload? I'm planning to stop by my favorite LFS tomorrow to look for some new ZoAs, maybe I'll ask them to get me a dracula if the tank can handle it. The tank's current stock is two percs, a mandarin, a firtideflow, and a pygmy cherub.

I think it would depend on the type of Goby you're planning to get. You're probably fine with a clown goby, they're tiny and don't produce much waste, but something like a watchman goby might be a bit too much for your tank. Once you've got the new perc, just keep a close eye on your water stats for a bit, see how everything settles in.

Citron Gobies seem like a nice choice, but do they feed on copepods?

Aww, dracula gobies are like unicorns - super hard to find. They're hilarious when they flash those fangs, I can imagine it's quite a sight. Fingers crossed for you, hope you manage to snag one soon.
