If you're going for Vallisneria, make sure your substrate is deep enough. It needs room to spread its roots.

Yeah, and Vallisneria can take over if you let it. Gotta cut it back now and then.

I've noticed my barbs ignore the taller plants. Maybe they don't like reaching up too much.
