Exactly. Presets can work if your ambient temp is stable, but adjustable gives you more control. Also, don't forget to unplug during water changes. Fried a heater once because I wasn't paying attention. Betta was not amused.

Pro tip: get a heater guard if you've got a curious betta. Mine kept trying to sit on the dang thing. Not exactly a warm rock, buddy.
