Exactly. Presets can work if your ambient temp is stable, but adjustable gives you more control. Better safe than sorry with bettas, they're picky about temp.

Also, don't forget to unplug during water changes. Fried a heater once because I wasn't paying attention. Betta was not amused.

Pro tip: get a heater guard if you've got a curious betta. Mine kept trying to sit on the dang thing. Not exactly a warm rock, buddy.
