I was gonna throw out a crazy suggestion like a Great White Shark, but that's obviously not gonna work in a 20-gallon tank. For something a bit more realistic, what about a Damsel fish or a Chromis? Both are pretty peaceful and should stay small enough for your tank. A Royal Gramma Basslet could also work, or maybe a small Wrasse like a Carpenter's or a fairy.
Damsels, yeah right, peaceful is the last thing I'd call them. They're notorious for being little bullies, taking on fish way bigger than themselves. I've seen it firsthand, it's not pretty.
How about a clown goby instead? They're a great choice, with awesome colours and they stay small, so you don't have to worry about them growing into a problem.

Royal Grammas can be pretty feisty too. How about a Bicolor Blenny?

I've had a pretty chill experience with my Blue Damsel, but I know some species can be super territorial. Yeah, best to steer clear of those aggressive ones.
What about a clown goby though? They've got some great colors and stay pretty small.
