Sounds like you might need a better maintenance routine. A Python water changer makes big tanks way easier to handle. Also, your fish might not show it, but they're definitely benefiting from the extra space.

Thanks for all the input, everyone. I think I'll start saving up and keep an eye out for used equipment. The stability and plant growth benefits sound too good to pass up.
