One more thing: if you're using a heat pack, wrap it in a towel to avoid direct contact with the container. Too much heat can be just as bad as too little.

Good point. Also, test the heat pack beforehand to see how hot it gets. Some can get way too warm for a small container.

Yeah, those heat packs can be sneaky. Almost cooked my shrimp once. Not a good look.
