Buffers are a crutch. If you can't keep Discus in your tap water, maybe they're not for you. Just saying.
 
That's a weird take. Most folks don't have perfect tap water for Discus. My tap's 8.2, and I've kept them happy for years with buffers and RO.

				I've heard mixed things about peat. Some say it stains the water bad. Anyone else deal with that?

				My water's kinda soft, so I just use a bit of driftwood and almond leaves. pH stays around 6.8. Tank's 30 gallons, but I only have two Discus.
