the reason cleaner wrasse should be left in the wild is because of the vital role they play in the ecosystem, not because of the food supply. many will accept frozen foods, but they should be left to do their job in the sea, it's not just about the food, it's about letting them thrive where they belong.

I've had the pleasure of keeping Labroides dimidiatus, and I must say, two out of the three I've kept did quite well on frozen foods - they weren't as finicky as I expected. They're indeed a fun fish to have in your tank, but I've had my share of losses, ironically due to disease outbreaks.

The other Labroides species, though, have a notoriously poor track record in captivity - only L. dimidiatus is worth considering, in my opinion.

That being said, I haven't brought another one home, and I agree with the sentiments expressed here - they're better off at their cleaning stations in the wild.

The Banana top wrasse are pretty easy to care for and are quite entertaining to watch.
