One more tip: quarantine new plants or decor before adding them to the tank. They can carry parasites or chemicals that'll stress your fish. Just soak them in conditioned water for a few days first.

Good point about quarantine. I've lost fish before because I didn't rinse new plants well enough. It's a hassle, but worth it to avoid problems later.

Also, make sure your water changes are consistent. Sudden changes in temperature or pH can shock them. I always match the new water's temp to the tank before adding it.

Yep, stability is everything. Bettas are hardy, but they're sensitive to sudden changes. Keep things steady, and they'll thrive.
