Back to the plants, another thing to consider is water flow. If your filter's too strong, it might be pulling the plants loose. Adjusting the flow or positioning the plants in calmer spots can help.

True, kayla. I've got a sponge filter in my shrimp tank, and the plants stay put way better than in my high-flow cichlid tank. Flow matters more than I thought.

Good point. I had to baffle my HOB filter with a sponge to keep my floaters from getting sucked in.

If all else fails, just let 'em float. Some plants do fine as floaters, and the fish might enjoy the extra cover. Not ideal, but it's an option.

Yeah, my anubias ended up floating for a week, and it started growing new leaves like crazy. Sometimes they just do their own thing, lol.
