I'm new to this, but my friend told me to use a UV sterilizer. Has anyone tried that? Does it work?

UV sterilizers can help, but they're more of a band-aid. You still need to address the root cause, like excess nutrients or light.

I've had luck with adding more plants and cutting back on the grub. Less food means less waste, which means less algae. Simple as that.
