He was usually the one hogging the frozen brine shrimp cubes, sometimes eating a huge chunk at once... half a cube, no joke. Otherwise, he looked amazing, nearly 4" long, lots of color, and those extended fins... my best Denison did the same thing just a week ago in a different tank, so I'm wondering if it's the dominant fish eating too much at once. I'm trying to space it out, a couple cubes per tank every other day, so everyone gets a shot at some frozen shrimp... maybe 2 days in a row sometimes. Thoughts on this?
I recall a similar issue I had, with frozen blood worms. One of my prized angel fish would devour them, then a day later, he'd have a prolapsed anus - it happened not once, but twice. Thankfully, he recovered both times, but I realized I had to make a change. Now, I thaw the cubes before feeding, and the issue is gone. If the anus doesn't heal quickly, it leaves sensitive tissues exposed to damage and infection.

I've been feeding frozen, unthawed bloodworms for years without any issues, but I think if a fish is prone to problems passing a large stool, it's possible to see the same issue with brine shrimp.

I've seen some fish have issues with prolapsed anus after eating frozen foods, but adding some Spirulina to their diet seems to help. It's got a bunch of nutrients and fiber which can help with digestion.
