I've seen some amazing tanks in my time, but a Saulosi species only tank of Mbuna is definitely one of the most impressive. If you're looking to stock around 20-25, Pseudotropheus Saulosi 'Coflake Red' would be an excellent choice. You could easily get away with 4 males, possibly even 5 if you're feeling lucky.

A fully grown Yellow Lab is massive, so I think you'd be better off avoiding them if you want to keep your tank looking balanced. Instead, consider adding some Synodontis Petricola or Multipunctatus to mix things up a bit. They're great for adding some variety to your tank and they get along well with Mbuna.

Think I'm going with the Saulosi then, don't want fish that'll outgrow the tank, and aggression would be too high. Anyone on this forum breed Pseudotropheus Saulosi or know a good source?

Hey all, I'm looking for some advice on tank mates for my Pseudotropheus Saulosi in my 55g tank. I've decided to go with them after doing some research and getting some great suggestions from you guys. I want to make sure I'm not overstocking or creating too much aggression in the tank. Has anyone kept Saulosi with other Mbuna or catfish? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
