Who Gives A Fish Forums

I'm having trouble finding 16 Pseudotropheus saulosi at once for my tank, so I was wondering if it's better to add them all at once or in groups, say 1m and 3f.

My tank's been cycled for 6ppm Ammonia. If I add a small number of fish first, how would the filter handle it? Would it adjust to the lower Ammonia input or maintain its capacity? I'm concerned that adding more fish later might be a problem if the filter's capacity drops.

Honestly, I think adding all 16 at once would be ideal, you might be able to special order them from your shop to get them all at the same time. If you were dealing with different species, it'd be a matter of introducing the least aggressive ones first and then the more aggressive ones later. Since you're working with the same species, having smaller tanks to keep each group in before adding them to the main tank would be the next best option.
