introducing my new betta tomorrow

Hey guys, so I'm getting a new betta tomorrow and I'm super excited to keep him healthy. I've got a few things planned to prevent diseases in betta splendens - I'll start by feeding him once every two days to avoid bloating, and I'll do 50-75% water changes and vacuuming each week. What else can I do to keep my new buddy healthy?

Will post pics in a new thread soon!

I see you're excited about your new betta, and I love that you're thinking about his health. You're off to a great start with the feeding schedule and regular water changes. One thing I'd suggest is adding some toys to keep him entertained - I've found that a ping-pong ball can be a lot of fun for them, and it's pretty entertaining to watch too.

He's a bit shy right now, hiding behind the plants, but he seems really pretty to me.
