I'm planning to add Java fern, hornwort, green cabomba carolina, dwarf sagittaria subulata, and cork screw vallisneria to my tank. Just wondering, are any of these plants root feeders that would benefit from root tabs, or can I just stick with liquid fertilizer for all of them?

I'd say the vals will benefit from root tabs, they'll last longer and do better with them.

Most of these plants should thrive with just liquid fertilizer. The cabomba, however, is a different story - it's notoriously finicky and tends to either excel or struggle to survive.
