so i've got this jar with soil from a marshy area and it's got all these cool plants growing in it, like marsh plants and aquatic ones.
but the thing is, it's also got a ton of little bugs and pest shrimps and stuff.
i'm trying to figure out how to keep the plants but get rid of the bugs - any ideas?

Honestly, I think you're just gonna have to manually pick them out.

Bleach dipping might work, but isn't that a bit harsh on the plants?

Definitely do a bleach dip on the plants, that should help get rid of the bugs. I'd personally ditch the substrate and try to rinse it all off the roots.

yeah, i've done this before too
scooped a bunch of plants from a local river pond area
got frogbit, parrot feather, anacharis, and a ton of marsh plants
think these'll make it through the dip?
