I'm trying to figure out the difference between Aussey and Indo Gold Hammer Wall Coral - the price difference is huge. Using a well-known reef distributor, the Aussie large is $500, while the Indo large is $180. That's a big gap. I'd appreciate any help on this.

Aussie's got the fatter polyps, that's the key difference. Don't even think about buying without seeing it in person, trust me on that one. When you do buy, make sure to check for receding flesh on the sides and no cuts - it's gotta be a solid piece. I personally won't touch one that's been sitting for less than 6 weeks, that's the make-or-break mark for me. GL.

Honestly, walls can be super tough to keep, I've seen it myself.

I've always thought the Indo Gold hammer walls were way more resilient than the Aussie ones - easier to keep, that is. Am I off the mark?
Looking for the low-maintenance option here - what's the easiest Gold hammer (not torch) to care for? Any tips on how to identify it?

Collection, shipping, and cutting can all cause issues, leading to infections. I personally think it's best to wait at least six weeks before buying, just to be safe.

In my local fish store, gold hammers are always gone within a week. Someone always snaps them up.
