looking for some thoughts on tangs i've been checking out on liveaquaria.com and DeepB23.com

kole tang/yellow eyed bristle tooth tang - min tank 70 gallons on liveaquaria, 90 gallons on DeepB23
blue line tang - min tank 70 gallons on DeepB23

which one would be better suited for my tank
my tank is 75 uk/gall, 90 us gall, 4ft long, 2ft deep, 1.5ft wide

been told kole tang would be alright for my tank, but was wondering if blue line tang would be ok too or if it's possible to have both in my tank

can post my stock list if that's any help

Honestly, I've had a gold rush tang and a tomini bristle tooth in my 55 gallon tank, so I've got the smallest tang you can fit and it does alright. A yellow eyed bristle tooth tang would probably be a better fit for you, they're pretty hardy and have a nice pattern going on, even if they are brown in my opinion.

yeah i'm defo going with the kole tang, but was thinking, whats the chances of having a blue line tang as well?

I'd say you could probs squeeze in the blue line as well, but that's a bit of a stretch, so keep an eye on it while it's acclimating.

Agreed. Tangs are pretty sensitive so be careful with transport and acclimation.

what acclimation method should i use then? 2 hours is a bit short i think?

my stock list is now

- 3 green chromis
- 2 percula clowns
- 1 flame angel
- 1 bicolour dotty back
- 1 blue line tang
- 1 kole tang
- 1 neon goby

is this ok?

thinking of adding a sixline wrasse too, would that be overstocking?

I was referring to monitoring the fish's health and behavior closely in the initial weeks after introduction, not the acclimation time itself. I've had experiences where I've done a quick acclimation and the fish still thrived, like when I gave my Sailfin to my cousin and he just added it to his tank without much fuss. The fish is now doing great, as happy and colorful as ever. The key is to keep a close eye on the fish's condition in the first couple of weeks, making sure it doesn't show any signs of stress or illness.

You could probably fit a sixline in, just keep an eye on that dottyback, they can get a bit territorial once they've established themselves, and you might find it tricky to add more fish after that.

Honestly, I find acclimating them for about an hour to an hour and 20 minutes works best for me. Leaving them stuck in a bag for over 2 hours can cause more stress than a slight salinity change. I wouldn't recommend having both tangs, one would be better. They'll show off their colors and character more if they're less stressed, that's the main thing.
