Female betta appears extremely bloated

I'm really struggling with my female betta - she's been severely bloated for weeks. I've got her in a divided tank with a male, but they barely interact and he doesn't seem interested, so I initially thought it might be eggs, but she's not dropping them or reabsorbing them.

I've also considered dropsy, but her scales aren't sticking out and she's swimming and eating normally. The only issue I've noticed is a low water level, which I plan to fix tomorrow. Everything else in the tank seems fine.

Honestly, after losing my goldfish and another female betta, I'm starting to feel like I'm not cut out for this. I take full responsibility, though - I know I haven't been doing my best with maintenance, and I'm working to change that.

Has anyone dealt with an egg-bound or extremely bloated female betta? Any advice would be really helpful. I want to improve and do better by my fish.

Would be really helpful if you could post a picture of your betta, might give us a better idea of what's going on.
