Benefits of taking probiotics for gut health

I finished treating my platys for worms with Praziquantel and metronidazole. Now that the treatment is over, I'm thinking of using Dr. Tim's probiotic solution to help restore their gut health. I've read that antibiotics can really mess with the normal gut flora, so I want to get things back on track. Does anyone have experience with this, or recommend a different approach to getting their biome back in balance?

I've never really looked into probiotics for fish, so I'm curious to hear what others think. I do recall instances where fish developed severe intestinal blockages after antibiotics, but it was hard to say for sure if it was the antibiotics or the original disease still causing issues.
If the treated fish were in quarantine and are going back into a community tank, I imagine they'll start feeding on waste and recover pretty quickly. However, if the entire tank was treated and they weren't in QT, I'd take a cautious approach with feeding for a couple of weeks, assuming their gut flora would be severely depleted.
