Having trouble in the bedroom with kribs

I've had this breeding pair of kribs since January, been together fine till now. Last batch, she's decided he's not needed, laid the eggs, guarding the cave, but won't let him near. He keeps trying, she chases him off, battering him. Now he's hiding top corner, far from her, amongst the plants, looking grey and washed out. Got any ideas what's going on?

This is definitely odd behavior, especially since they've been a mated pair for so long. It's possible the female is just being overprotective of her eggs, even from the male, but I'm not entirely sure. I think it's best to see what others have to say on this, maybe someone has experienced something similar.

Anything else in the tank with the Kribs? Got a spare tank to move him to while she's in protective mode?

No change, still the same, they were the last additions, just odd given their history of 4 batches together. There are a few stragglers from previous batches still in there, but that wouldn't cause her to turn on him. I do have a spare sump chamber I could move him to, got a light and I'll add some floating plants for him.
