Who Gives A Fish Forums

I'm trying to figure out what type of cichlid this is. I initially thought it was a tilapia, but I spoke with one of my teachers who works with tilapia in aquaponics and they said it's probably not. They mentioned it's likely another cichlid, but couldn't pinpoint the exact species. Does anyone have any ideas?

Honestly, it's a bit tough to give a definitive ID right now. You'll need to give it some time to grow out a bit, gain some size.
