I'm setting up a high-tech planted tank and need advice on plant selection. The tank is a 20-gallon with CO2 injection, high lighting, and an ADA Amazonia substrate. I'm looking for plants that'll thrive under these conditions but won't require constant trimming. Any recommendations?

I've got a similar setup but with a 15-gallon. I've had good luck with Rotala Rotundifolia and Ludwigia Repens. They grow fast but don't get too wild if you keep up with weekly trims. What's your lighting schedule like?

Yo, if you're gonna go high-tech, you gotta mess with some Monte Carlo or Dwarf Hairgrass for the carpet. They'll spread like crazy under CO2 and high light. Just watch out for algae if your ferts are outta whack.

I've been using Hygrophila Pinnatifida in my high-tech tank. It's got a unique leaf shape and doesn't grow too fast. My tank's running at 78°F with a Finnex Planted+ light, and it's been thriving.

8 hours should be fine, but you might wanna start at 6 and ramp up to avoid algae. I made that mistake my first time.

For real, algae's a pain. I run my lights at 7 hours with a siesta period in the middle. Keeps the plants happy and the algae in check. Also, don't skimp on the ferts, but don't go overboard either.

I've found that adding floating plants like Red Root Floaters helps with algae control too. They soak up excess nutrients and give the tank a nice natural look.

Yep, floaters are clutch. Just gotta thin 'em out now and then so they don't block all the light.
