hey guys
ive had my wave nanocube set up for about 8 weeks now, its been doing great i added 4 kilos of live rock and sand, did a water check and everything seemed fine
my friend offered to buy me my first fish so i was stoked, but they arrived today and one of the perculas was dead on arrival and the other one wasnt looking too good
i floated the bag for 30 mins to an hour and slowly added my tank water to the bag, then threw the bag water away
i put the fish in the tank and hes been in there for 4 hours now, hes swam a tiny bit but now hes just sitting on the bottom of the tank, still breathing though
ive been watching him and hes not moving much, is he gonna be okay ?? can i still save him ??

I'm pretty sure this has been said before, but I'll throw in my two cents - clownfish can be super aggressive towards each other, so it's likely the one that died was killed by the other. And if that's the case, the dead fish would've started to decay, depending on how long it was in transit, and that could've released some pretty nasty stuff into the water. Even a tiny bit of that can be toxic to fish, especially saltwater ones. I'd just keep an eye on the one that's still alive and if it's not eating within a day or two, I'd start getting really worried - it's probably not gonna make it. If that happens, I'd be demanding a refund from the supplier, either for not labeling the package right or for just being reckless and putting two clowns in a small bag for any amount of time.

hi, just a thought, but even if they were in separate bags, shipping stress can still be a major issue for saltwater fish. I'd still be concerned about the possibility of decay from the dead fish affecting the water quality, and that could've harmed the other one. Just keep an eye on it, if it's not eating within a day or two, I'd be worried. If that's the case, I'd still go after the supplier for a refund, either for not handling the shipping properly or just not doing their job right.
