Buying plants from eBay

Has anyone bought aquarium plants from eBay before? I'm looking to add some Anubias and Java Fern to my 20 gallon but not sure if the sellers are reliable. Heard mixed things about pests or poor quality.

I've bought a few plants from eBay, mostly Anubias. They arrived in decent shape but one batch had snails. If you're cool with picking off pests, it's not a bad deal. Just check the seller reviews first.

Yeah, eBay can be hit or miss. I got some great Java Fern last year, but another time the plants were half dead. Always quarantine new plants for a week, just in case.

Snails are a pain. Got a bunch of hitchhikers last time I ordered. Now I dip everything in alum before adding to the tank. Works like a charm.

I've had good luck with eBay sellers who specialize in aquatic plants. The random ones selling everything under the sun? Sketchy. Stick to the pros.

I'd recommend checking out the seller's ratings and feedback. Also, look for listings with clear photos of the actual plants, not stock images.

Yep, eBay's a gamble. Got some sweet deals on Cryptocoryne but also got scammed once with fake plants. Now I only buy from sellers with tons of positive feedback.

I've never had issues with pests, but some plants arrived kinda wilted. Most bounced back after a few days in the tank though. Just don't expect perfection.

If you're worried about quality, maybe try local fish groups or forums first. Sometimes folks sell trimmings for cheap or even free. Less risk than eBay.

Quarantining is key. I lost a whole tank once because I didn't. Learned my lesson the hard way.
