why my discus has cloudy eyes?

Noticed my discus has cloudy eyes today. Water params are good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, nitrate around 10 ppm. Tank is 75 gallons, temp at 84°F, running a Fluval FX6. They're about 6 months old, eating beef heart mix twice a day. Any ideas what's up?

Cloudy eyes can be a sign of poor water quality or infection. You said params are good, but how often do you do water changes? I'd bump it to 50% every other day for a week. Also, check for any scratches or physical damage.

Yep, Swiftsea's got a point. I've seen this before in my tanks. Could be bacterial. Try dosing Metroplex if it doesn't clear up in a few days. What's your substrate? Sand can sometimes irritate their eyes if it's too coarse.

Agreed on the Metroplex. Also, make sure your filter isn't kicking up debris. What's the flow like in there?

Mine had this once, turned out to be a chill vibe, just a minor irritation. I upped the water changes and it cleared up. How's their behavior? Still eating and swimming normal?

If they're still active and eating, it's probably not super serious. But keep an eye on it. Maybe add some Indian almond leaves to help with stress. What kind of lighting are you using? Too bright can mess with them.

I'd second the almond leaves. Also, what's your pH? Discus can be sketchy with swings. Mine freaked out when my pH dropped suddenly, got all kinds of weird symptoms.

Yo, sounds like your fish got the funk. Try some salt, like 1 tbsp per 5 gallons. Works wonders for my crew. Just don't go overboard, ya know?

Salt can help, but be careful with discus. They're not as hardy as other fish. Maybe start with half that dose.

Cloudy eyes can also be a sign of internal parasites. Have you dewormed them recently? I use PraziPro every few months as a preventative. Also, how's their poop look? Stringy or white is a bad sign.
