can someone help me identify this?

I picked up this little fella today, he was being bullied so I figured I'd give him a home.
He's lost his tail but that doesn't seem to be holding him back, he's swimming around just fine.
I'm trying to figure out what kind of fish he is - I've got a hunch he's a cichlid, but I'm not sure of the specific type.
We've named him Nemo, it's because of his fin, we reckon it's his lucky one

I think he's an African cichlid, probably a hap - could be sp44 or zebra ob, I'm not too sure about Africans though.
You might want to separate him for now, if you have a spare tank, just to be safe - his belly does look a bit sunken. See how he eats and if his belly fills out, if not, you might want to worm him.

I'm inclined to think it's a Tanganyikan cichlid, possibly one of the newer Tropheus species.

I've taken a closer look at the images, and I'm leaning towards zebra ob now, the lady who gave him to me mentioned he does develop a red belly.

Poor little guy, glad you rescued him, whatever his breed may be, he's lucky to have found a caring home

Hope the little guy recovers, clamped fins and pale colour don't look great on him

He's really perked up since settling in, and I've gotta say, he's got some serious guts - stands up for the other fish when they're being bullied, it's actually quite amusing to see him in action, like a little tank hero.
