i've had this issue before. a good rule is to feed only what they can eat in about 2 minutes, twice a day. if there's leftover food, you're giving too much.

yep, finsley's got it right. also, try fasting them one day a week. helps clear their system, keeps 'em healthy.

fasting is key, but make sure the food you're giving is high quality. cheap flakes can cause bloating too.

i use a little pinch of pellets, like 3-4 max. they're tiny but pack a lot of nutrients. my guy's been thriving on this routine.

if you're worried about overfeeding, try using a feeding ring. it keeps the food in one spot so you can see exactly how much they're eating.

also, watch their behavior. if they're still scavenging after eating, it might be tempting to give more, but resist. they're just being opportunistic.

i've noticed some bettas are just greedy. mine acts like he's starving even after a full meal. gotta stay strong and stick to the schedule.

if you're using pellets, soak 'em for a sec before feeding. they expand in water, so dry pellets can swell in their belly and cause issues.
