Who Gives A Fish Forums

Today a mate came over who's also into mbuna and offered me a fish from his tank, said it was getting a bit too aggressive for the others. His tank's got smaller fish in it, so I reckon it just needed a change of scenery. I was wondering if anyone could help me ID the fish - it's the one going at it with my tank's top dog, a male yellow lab. They've been fighting on and off for a bit, but the new one's backed off now, just chillin in the corner trying to avoid the yellow lab's attention.

The newcomer doesn't quite fit the bill of a true Labidochromis caeruleus, I'm leaning towards a crossbreed. Maybe it's got some Maylandia estherae or Metriaclima estherae in it, those "Red Zebras" are known to be feisty.

Stellar pics, by the way, great job. And yeah, that's definitely not a gentle peck - more tongue, less teeth, haha.

He just chuckled, I had to practically shove it in his face to get a reaction. Getting him to participate is like pulling teeth, but this thread did manage to pique his interest since these fish are his thing.
