Just got my first Favia and I'm not sure where to place it in my 40-gallon tank. I've got moderate flow and AI Prime lighting. Any tips on height and flow preferences?

Favias do best in low to moderate flow, so avoid direct blasts from powerheads. I keep mine on the sandbed under similar lighting, and they've been thriving. What's your nitrate level? They can be sensitive to higher nutrients.

I've got mine mid-tank with a gentle flow, and it's been happy. But honestly, it's kinda trial and error. If it starts looking pissed, just move it around till it chills.

Mine's been on a rock ledge for months, getting indirect flow. It's not growing super fast, but the colors are solid. Maybe start low and adjust if needed?

Agreed on the flow. Mine melted when I had high nitrates, so keep an eye on that. What salt mix are you using?

Mine's in a weird spot—kinda shaded but with random flow bursts. It's not textbook, but it's working. Sometimes these guys just vibe where you least expect.

Totally this. Favias are pretty forgiving once you find their sweet spot. How's your alk stability? That's been my biggest hurdle.

i stuck mine near the bottom with a wavemaker on low, and it's been gucci. just watch for any tissue recession, that's when you know it's sketchy.

Thanks for all the advice! I'll start on the sandbed and adjust from there. Nitrates are at 5 ppm, and I'm using Red Sea Blue Bucket.
