My Blastomussa merleti hasn't shown any growth in months. Tank's been stable at 78F, salinity 1.025, nitrates around 5ppm. Running Radion XR15s at 60% for 8 hours. Any tips to kickstart growth?

Blastomussa merleti can be slow growers, especially if they're not getting enough nutrients. Have you tried spot feeding them with mysis or reef roids? Also, check your magnesium levels, they should be around 1350ppm for optimal calcification.

Yo, brooksky, what's your alk sitting at? Mine didn't budge till I bumped it to 9dKH. Also, they dig lower light, maybe dial back the Radions to 50% and see if they perk up.

Thanks, I'll test mag and try spot feeding. Haven't done that yet.

Mine grew faster when I moved them to the sandbed. Less light, more flow. Maybe try that?

Bro, blastos are chill but fussy. Mine took forever to grow till I started dosing amino acids. Now they're popping like crazy. Also, keep an eye on phosphates, too high or low can mess with them.

Totally agree on the alk. Mine were stagnant till I got my alk stable. Also, try reducing the photoperiod by an hour.

Amino acids can definitely help, but be cautious with dosing. Too much can lead to algae outbreaks. Start with half the recommended dose and monitor your tank's response.

Yep, phosphates are key. Mine sit around 0.03ppm, anything higher and they start looking sad.

For real, tokai. Phosphates are sneaky. Gotta test weekly if you're tweaking stuff. Also, brooksky, what's your calcium at? Blastos like it around 420ppm.
