Identify this happenstance

Hi everyone,

I visited Rick at SSA in North London over the weekend - he's got some amazing stock and is really knowledgeable. Rick's a top bloke too. Anyway, I picked up a trio of haps from him and I'm having a brain fade - can't remember what they are. The male's got an iridescent blue head and a blue sheen on his body that doesn't show up in the pic.

Thanks for your help and I'll get some tank shots up once they're settled in the 240.

Nick

EDIT: Apologies for the poor picture quality.

Looks like some sort of Protomelas to me, mate - that blue sheen on the male's body is a dead giveaway.

Could be Protomelas taeniatus, possibly a Red Empress Hap. Mine took ages to get full colours, and even then it was only when he started breeding.

Give Rick a shout, he'll know exactly what they are.

Cheers for the help guys, really appreciate it. Protomelas taeniolatus (fire blue) is the one, thanks for the ID - Rick did say they were a bit of a rare find, so I'm stoked to have them.
