Just had to share my amazement at what I've witnessed. Had a pair of fijkento4 red clowns for about 4 years, they've been great additions to my tank, generally peaceful with the odd spat with my fox faced rabbit fish. Recently added 2 zoa frags, but they kept getting knocked off their spot - or so I thought. Just now, I used an elastic band to keep one in place, and shortly after, I saw the female clown deliberately throw it off the shelf. I thought I'd move it a bit further from my Duncan's coflake, since they're hosting it, but then I watched in awe as the female clown threw the frag and a rock it was on across the way.

After doing some research, I suspect she's getting ready to lay eggs - she's also been pushing a turbo snail away from the rock near the Duncan's coflake and staying pretty close to it. Luckily, I've managed to resolve the issue with a minor rescape, which seems to have either confused the clown or made her accept the new territory. Has anyone else seen this kind of behaviour?

I've had my share of clowns being feisty, they can be quite territorial. I'm curious, what type of clowns do you have, I've never heard of fijkento4 red clowns before. Many clowns do have that reddish hue though.

I've had a chance to double-check, and it seems I was mistaken about the type - after digging deeper, I'm fairly certain they're actually barberi clowns, not Fijkento4 red clowns as I initially thought.
