Bumblebee goby care and discussion

I'm picking up my new 45L tank this weekend, it's 50cm long, 25cm wide, and 35cm tall. I've decided on a freshwater setup with some bumblebee gobies, specifically brachygobius xanthomelas. I'm also planning to add a breeding pair of endlers. I want to know if I should get 6-10 gobies, the local shop said they do better in groups.

I've not seen Brachygobius xanthomelas for years, but they popped up in my local Maidenhead last week, brought back memories of my old tank. Lovely little fish, they are. I recall having about 10 gobies in a tank with that white rock with holes in it, was a great setup. I'd personally go with 10 and see how they get on, they do seem to thrive in groups.

Minimum tank size for bumblebee gobies, I'd say it's largely dependent on the number of fish you're planning to keep. I've kept them in the past, and from my experience, 45L should be sufficient for a small group, but I'd recommend at least 60L for a larger group, like the 6-10 you're thinking of.

I'd just go by experience, for me it's ten in that tank, you might lose a couple but they're only small, I think it'd be fine.
