I've decided on sand substrate for my new tank, it'll be my first time not using gravel. I've got a few questions - what are some key things I should know about sand? Also, what type of sand is recommended? Luckily, my family's business can get Silurkento4 Pool Filter Sand at a really cheap price. Is this stuff any good? I've read that pool filter sand can be used, but I want to make sure. Any other types of sand you guys would suggest?

I just set up my first sand tank and it's been a great experience. I got some pool filter sand from a local pool store for super cheap - $5, can't beat that. I've got 3 cichlids, including 2 geos, and 8 cories, all doing great on it. The sand looks awesome and is really easy to clean. One thing I've noticed, it doesn't cloud the water at all, which is a huge plus in my book.
