Not a huge fan of orange clowns, but these ones are like straight out of the 70's.

KJ had a pair of those gorgeous picassos, sadly lost one though. Still has a real beauty, and can give you the lowdown on these stunning fish, they come in different grades depending on the white coverage.

What's the rarity of these orange clowns?

These Picassos are pretty rare and mostly tank-bred, which explains the hefty price tag of $349.99. ORA and TMC are similar, having breeding programs in place. They specifically breed for those vibrant colors.

Not my cup of tea, these tank-bred mutations. I miss the days of calling them misbars. The natural hybrid tang they have is more my style, worth the splurge. Hopefully, these tank-bred strains will become more affordable soon, till then I'll pass.

Saw them at TMC and nearly splurged, but the price tag was a major turn-off. Roughly £125 a pair - and that's trade price. They were gorgeous though, even more white than that pair.

TMC still uses the term misbars, I'm pretty sure. I've seen their stock labelled as misbars around here, anyway.

It's like the marine scene is mirroring the freshwater one, breeding mutations for profit. I dread the thought of dyed, balloon, or long fin clowns hitting the market. The way things are going, it won't be long before we see these 'frankenstein' fish being sold at ridiculous prices, just because they're man-made freaks.

Is there a site that lists all TMC fish with trade prices?
