is shelly stressed?

I've had him for a few weeks now and at first, he seemed to settle in really well. But to be honest, I've got this nagging feeling something's not quite right. He's eating fine and he'll come to the glass when I'm standing there, chatting away to him (I know, I know, I talk to all my fish, lol), and he'll even follow my finger along the glass, wiggling about. But as soon as I walk away, he just seems to go all lethargic. I've tried rearranging the tank a bit, creating a clearer area and adding some extra shells, but he still seems to prefer the one he came in. I know he's getting on a bit, but it's like he's just...sad, I guess.

Would getting some more shellies help, do you think? Do they have to be the same species? I've found some Brevis locally, but I'm not sure if they'd be compatible.

Hey star, I think you're probably right about the female companion. Having Brevis in the tank could lead to cross-breeding, which might not be ideal. They're pretty rare, unfortunately. I do recall seeing some at Wharf Aquatics a while back, but I just checked their site and they don't have any now.
