What's the easiest plant to keep alive in a low tech tank? I'm kinda lazy with maintenance but wanna add some green to my setup. Tank's got sand substrate, basic LED light, and I do water changes like once a month.

Anubias and Java Fern are your best bets. They don't need fancy lights or CO2, and they're tough as nails. Just tie 'em to driftwood or rocks, and they'll thrive. I've got some in my 20-gallon with minimal care, and they're doing great.

I've had luck with Hornwort. It grows like crazy even in low light, and you don't even need to plant it. Just let it float. Only downside is it sheds a bit, but it's easy to clean up.

Yep, second this. My Anubias has survived multiple tank crashes and still looks good. Just don't bury the rhizome, or it'll rot.

If you want something even lower maintenance, try Marimo moss balls. They just roll around and look cute. No planting, no trimming, just occasional rinsing. Perfect for lazy keepers.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Gonna grab some Anubias and maybe a moss ball. Sounds like my kinda plants.

Good call. Just remember to keep the Anubias out of direct light, or it'll get algae. Low light, low effort.

Also, if you're lazy about fertilizing, duckweed can be a good option. It's basically impossible to kill, and it'll soak up excess nutrients. Just be warned, it spreads fast.

Duckweed is a double-edged sword. It's easy to grow, but it'll take over your tank if you're not careful. I'd stick with the Anubias and moss balls for a more controlled setup.

Another vote for Anubias. Mine's been in the same spot for years with zero care. Just sits there, looking pretty. Can't beat that.
