I've got a Foxface in my 75-gallon tank and I'm thinking about adding some tankmates. What fish have you guys had success with? My water params are solid, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 8.2 pH, and salinity at 1.025. The Foxface is pretty chill but I don't wanna mess with anything that might stress it out.

Yo, I've got a Foxface with some Clownfish and they get along fine. My tank's a bit smaller though, like 55 gallons. Just make sure the Clowns aren't too aggressive, mine are pretty laid back. Also, keep an eye on the Foxface's spines, they can be sketchy if they feel threatened.

Foxfaces generally do well with peaceful community fish. In my 120-gallon system, I've paired them with Royal Grammas, Firefish, and a Yellow Tang. The key is ensuring enough space and hiding spots. Foxfaces can be territorial if cramped. What's your tank's rockwork like? Plenty of caves and overhangs help reduce aggression.

Yeah, Clowns can be hit or miss. I've seen some that are cool and others that are straight-up bullies. Maybe try a smaller, less aggressive species like Chromis if you're worried.

I've kept Foxfaces with Anthias and they've been a great combo. The Anthias add color and movement without bothering the Foxface. Just make sure your tank has good flow and plenty of swimming space. Mine's a 90-gallon with a mix of live rock and open water.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I've got a lot of rockwork and caves, so hiding spots aren't an issue. I'll probably start with some Chromis and see how it goes. Appreciate the help!

Chromis are a solid choice. They're schooling fish, so consider getting at least three to reduce stress. Also, keep an eye on your Foxface's feeding behavior. They can be shy eaters, so make sure they're getting enough food if you add more active tankmates.

Yeah, Foxfaces can be picky eaters. Mine took a while to get used to pellets. Now it's all good, but I had to mix in some nori to get it started. Maybe try that if yours is being stubborn.

For real, my Foxface was a total diva about food at first. Had to hand-feed it seaweed for like a week before it chilled out.

If you're adding Chromis, make sure your tank's bio-load can handle it. They're small but active, and they eat a lot. I'd recommend checking your nitrate levels weekly after adding them, just to be safe.
