Just curious about people's experiences with fish from this region.

I'm mainly considering CPDs, Emerald Dwarf Danios, Fireline Danios, and other nano danio species for my tank. Planning a 53L or 45L setup (14g or 11g US GAL) with a dirted, planted environment.

Been using this website for research: Myanmar Freshwater Aquarium Fish, Shrimp & Snails - aquadiction.world. They have a great selection of freshwater fish, shrimp, and snails native to Myanmar that are popular among aquarists and hobbyists.

I'm not familiar with those specific species, but I recall they tend to thrive in harder water conditions with minimal flow and an abundance of floating plants. An Inle biotope setup has been on my wishlist for a while, but it's not feasible at the moment due to my very soft water. I wish you the best of luck with your setup.

CPDs are indeed lovely fish. Given their shy nature, it's best to avoid active or large tankmates. A single-species setup is ideal, and I'd recommend a group size of 20+ to really bring out their beauty. With their slow feeding habits, you'll want to ensure they have ample opportunity to grab food without feeling rushed or intimidated.

I've had great luck with sawbwa, they're really something special. I'm eager to try another species from the same lake, and my local fish store has a pretty impressive selection of Lake Inle species, so I feel pretty fortunate.

CPDs are indeed lovely. I've found them to be quite timid and slow to feed, so it's best to pair them with peaceful tankmates. A single species setup is ideal - I've considered this approach myself. For my own setup, I've thought of adding only a few bladder snails and perhaps a handful of amano shrimp to keep them company.
