choosing the right rocks and substrate for a malawi tank

hi,

i'm looking to set up a rock formation in my malawi tank and was wondering what options are out there. i've heard of resin rocks and was thinking maybe a mix of real and resin to keep the weight down?

can anyone recommend any good resin rocks that are suitable for a malawi tank? or would it be better to just stick with real rock?

also, what are my options for substrate? i've currently got gravel in my new world cichlid tank but i'm not sure if that's the best choice for a malawi tank.

how does substrate differ when it comes to cleaning? is gravel a good choice or would something else be better?

I've had the best luck with sand, makes cleaning a breeze as all the waste stays on top. The fish seem to love sifting through it too. For rocks, I always try to find them in a nearby stream or brook - gives them a more natural look. If not, garden centres usually have some decent options.
