I've been thinking of decorating my aquarium and I'm not sure what to choose between bog wood and drift wood for my fresh water fish.

Can moss thrive in a fish tank, or is it not compatible with them?

I've also been considering getting a black tetra and a bumble bee goby, but I don't know if they can coexist peacefully.

What are the different types of moss out there, and which one would be best suited for my aquarium?

I've heard of Hyophila involuta, but I'm not sure if it's safe for my fish to be around it.

If you're referring to saltwater-exposed wood, I wouldn't recommend it for freshwater tanks, even after soaking. However, if it's wood from a marsh or similar environment, the condition is key - if it's decaying, I'd advise against using it. On the other hand, Mopani wood is suitable, but be aware it releases a significant amount of tannins, which can cause your water to take on various shades of sepia for months or even years.

The brackish variety can survive in freshwater for a short period but won't be happy and may eventually die. I've had experience with the brackish type, and they're quite feisty, capable of handling larger fish as long as they're not predatory.
