my first bubble nest

I just got home and Hank's made his first bubble nest - I'm beyond stoked for him. All that hard work paid off, and I'm beaming with pride.
The tank reno's definitely doing its job, whether bubble nests mean happiness or just maturity - either way, it's awesome. Go Hank, buddy!
Thanks again to everyone who helped me get him back on his feet - I owe you one. He's been ridiculously healthy, and you'd never guess he was near death. Plus, he's way more social than I expected from a betta - he's a total character.

Yay, I'm thrilled for Hank and you, Rizen. His bubble nest is definitely a great sign, and I'm glad to see all your hard work paying off. I voted for all of the above - happiness, maturity, it's all good.

Hank's bubble nest is a solid start, but I think he's got some work to do on the layout. I'd love to see another level or two, and the little nooks he's got set up could be a bit more spacious. That being said, the way he's integrated the plant life is really impressive, and I love the little 'hideaways' he's created.

Way to go Hank. Give that little guy a treat, he's earned it.

Tell him he's off to a great start, but I think he needs to expand the floor plan a bit - maybe add a second bedroom, and the bathroom and living room could use a bit more space, but that fireplace is a nice touch. I'll dig up some pics on my phone to show him how to take it to the next level.

I've got a confession to make, and it's not exactly something I'm proud of. I got Hank's new plants in the mail, and in the process, I managed to completely destroy his bubble nest. I'm talking the whole two-story house with extra bedrooms and a renovated bathroom and living room - all gone.
As I was putting the plants in, Hank nipped at my wrist, and at first, I thought he was just trying to snack on my mole. But now I'm pretty sure he was actually warning me to stay away from his masterpiece. I feel terrible about it, but I'm trying to focus on the positives - Hank loves the new plants! I've caught him resting on them a few times, and he swims through them like they're his own little obstacle course. It's adorable.
Here's what's left of the bubble nest, along with the new plants. And don't worry, that bag of gravel is on its way out soon - Wednesday, I think.

I'm sure he'll bounce back from this, he was just protecting his home.

He'll be back at it. I'm pretty sure he was just defending his nest, that's why he nipped at you - first time, right, despite all the tank changes?

Bummer I heard his nest was a total loss, no coverage either. If he needs someone to take on those plant-wielding wreckers, I've got a lawyer buddy who'll take the case pro bono.

That's a bummer and I heard he had no insurance either. Let him know that if he needs a good lawyer I know one who will represent him for free. Those darn bubble home smashers
