That's a good point. I had to adjust my filter output when I first got mine. They perked up after that.

I had the same issue last month. Turns out my fertilizer was too strong. Switched to a milder one and they're doing better now. Maybe cut back on dosing?

You might want to try finding a local aquarium club in your area, see if they know of any reputable betta breeders nearby or even in your state - that way you can get a better sense of who you're buying from and possibly even meet them in person.

I've had bettas for years, experimenting with different tank sizes and setups. Four years ago, I had a 2.5-gallon betta hex tank, but I decided to upgrade to 10-gallon tanks, eventually ending up with three bettas in separate 10-gallon tanks. Each had its own tankmates - green tetras, khuli loaches ...
