finding a trustworthy breeder

I'm setting up a 55-gallon betta sorority and I'm looking for 13 females, along with some dither fish. I've got a backup 20-gallon and a few 5-gallons on standby, just in case things get out of hand. To reduce the risk of fighting, I'd prefer some of the girls to be related or have been raised with other bettas. Anyone know of a trustworthy breeder I can purchase from? Buying off Ebay seems pretty shady, especially since I don't know much about the sellers.

You might want to try finding a local aquarium club in your area, see if they know of any reputable betta breeders nearby or even in your state - that way you can get a better sense of who you're buying from and possibly even meet them in person.

I'm pretty sure I recall @Deanasue having experience with a betta sorority tank, so it might be worth reaching out to her for some insight. If I'm totally off base, my apologies.
