Re: Palythoa grandis care tips

I'd double-check your magnesium levels. Low mag can make them sulk. Aim for 1350–1400 ppm. Also, how often are you feeding them?

Re: identifying the betta breed

Lovely betta, isn't he. No idea what type though. I've been wondering, is there an app for fish identification similar to Merlin for birds. You know, take a photo and it tells you what you're looking at. Would be super helpful for all us fish enthusiasts.

Re: Considering investing in bacter ae company

I've been adding Bacter AE to my tanks a couple of times a week - my shrimp-only tank and two other tanks with shrimp. It's a hit with my shrimp, and even the fry go crazy for it.

Re: Being the sole survivor

It's like when you have a litter of kittens or puppies, there's usually one that stands out. This little guy must have had something going for him to be the only one to make it. Now, I'm curious - what made the difference? Was it something with the water parameters, or maybe the breeding process ...

Being the sole survivor

I'm curious about what sets this little guy apart, making him the sole survivor from a large brood. Being the offspring of gold sailfin Mollies, there must be something unique about him.

I've only ever come across negative experiences with fish bought off eBay, to be honest.

Re: buying fish that's been shipped: what to expect

I've had some good luck with shipped fish. Dan's Fish has been great for me, but Aqua Huna has been a mixed bag. I ordered 20 neocaridina and 6 yellow tiger endlers from Aquatic Arts, and all of them arrived alive - they're still going strong 5 weeks later.

Re: Ace inhibitor research

Just found an awesome video on YouTube of Psuedotropheus Acei in the wild - the Itungi or Ngara type, to be specific. At 1:50, there's this huge school of Acei that's just mind-blowing. The way they behave is insane - never seen anything like the nests those Lethrinops build, absolutely crazy ...

Re: Caring for mystery snails

I've been having a tough time keeping my mystery snail shells looking healthy, and I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I've had success with shrimp and nerites, but these snails are a bit more challenging for me. What methods or products do you guys use to keep your mystery snail ...
